The pop group entitled Wedding Present (also called the Weddoes) appeared in Leeds in the middle 80's. The band's debut lineup consisted of such musicians as David Gedge (vocals), Keith Gregory (bass), Peter Solowka (guitar), and Shaun Charman (drums). In 1987 Reception Records released the band's first album, George Best, which got good press and topped the British charts.
