The Corries band was founded in the early 60's in Scotland by singers and songwriters Ronnie Browne and Roy Williamson. In 1962 they recruited Bill Smith, Paddie Bell joined them the next year. In the 60's the group such full-length albums as The Promise Of The Day, e Corrie Folk Trio With Paddie Bell, and Retrospect. In the early 60's Smith and Bell left the band.
