Sponge was formed in the early 90's by Vinnie Dombrowski (vocals and drums), Tim Cross (bass), Joey Mazzola and Mike Cross (both: guitar), and Jimmy Paluzzi (drums). The Columbia label released the band's first full-length album entitled Rotting Pinata in 1994. The songs like"Molly (Sixteen Candles)," "Rainin'," and "Plowed" became hits; and the album went gold.
