Founded in 1994, Sweden's Apostasy performs keyboard-laden symphonic black metal. This style was inspired by the likes of Dimmu Borgir and Arcturus. In 1997, after the sudden death of original singer Stefan Peersen (reportedly from a devastating brain virus), guitarist Svenn-Aksel Henriksen assumed vocal duties. Along with other band members Daniel Nymo (guitar), Ole Jtsrgen Moe (bass), and Arne Ording (drums) they recorded the limited release, Mournful Heaven E.P. in 1998.
