About Steve Reich
Stephen Reich is regarded as one of the few composers to have influenced in a material way the direction in which the entire music world is going with his compositions. From listening to Bach and Stravinsky as a young composer, Stephen Reich later added Coltrane to his basket (Reich said of Coltrane that he played a lot of notes to very few harmonies) and West African music, which Reich learned on a visit to Ghana.
