Slayer are an American thrash metal. The band, originally from California, released their debut album in 1983 and their breakthrough album, on Rick Rubin's Def Jam Records in 1986. Slayer have since established themselves as a major thrash metal band, headlining the biggest metal festivals in the world and even winning a Grammy Award along the way for the song Eyes of the Insane.
