The Red Hot Chili Peppers started in Los Angeles in 1983 as a young group of four musicians with a punk attitude that played a funk style music with rap elements, self-conscious of their white rock influences. Although the lineup ahs changed over the years, mainly with guitarists coming and leaving, the main chapters in the Red Hot Chili Peppers recording career have stuck to the original sound, though with ever increasing popularity.
