About Randy Newman
American singer-songwriter and pianist Randy Newman has won an Academy Award for his film composition for the song If I Didn't Have You, which appeared on the film Monsters, Inc. Randy Newman has composed other films' scores and many songs over a career that spans from 1961. Influenced by his youth years growing up in New Orleans, Randy Newman is more R&B than folk as other American songwriters of his era are (namely Bob Dylan).
