American rock band the Ramones, amazingly enough, released 14 studio albums and played about 2,200 live concerts in 22 years but have never really made it big commercially. Only years after disbanding, in the 00s, did the Ramones finally get the recognition they deserve, appearing on end of century type summaries and lists.
