About New Order
Formed immediately after the suicide of Ian Curtis, their lead singer when still with Joy division, New Order have continued the post-punk tradition of art-rock and alternative dance, in albums that would carry Manchester's dance clubs off the ground and inspire many bands in the Madchester scene as well. New Order is regarded as one of the main pillars on which The Stone Roses and Blur, among others, have risen.
