After being fired from space-rock band Hawkwind, singer and songwriter Lemmy founded Motorhead, a British heavy metal band that changed the heavy metal scene with its loud and fast style. Yet, Motorhead prefer the term rock and roll to apply to their music style, although they most definitely fall under the speed metal category.
