About Ministry
It took Cuban-born Al Jourgensen a few years from the time he founded Ministry in 1981 to design and shape the sound of the band. When he finally managed to do so, going through a New Wave phase for a while, it was clearly something new. Ministry recorded The Land of Rape and Honey in 1988 and launched the industrial metal sound, an explosive fusion, aggressive at times, of heavy metal and industrial dance samples.
