About Ludacris
With the rise of the Dirty South style in hip hop in the early 00s, Def Jam came down to Atlanta looking fro talent. Ludacris was the first rapper they signed, having already established a name for himself in the region with two independently released albums. Def Jam had Ludacris collaborate with U.G.K.on Stick 'Em Up, with the Neptunes on Southern Hospitality') and with Timbaland on several tracks. Ludacris quickly made a name for himself as the dirtiest of the Dirty South.
