Kenny G appeared only once on a rock and roll musician's album. The sax player did collaborate with Whitney Houston, Natalie Cole, even Aretha Franklin, but his appearance on a Steve Miller album was the first and only time he has done so. This is largely due to the criticism Pat Metheny once expressed of Kenny G. The influential and revered jazz musician said of the smooth jazz player that overdubbed a Louis Armstrong song that it is equal to "disrespecting Louis" to even listen to Kenny G."
