About Joy Division
The four members from greater Manchester who formed Joy Division would go down in history as one of the most influential bands in a couple of the greatest music scenes – the late 70s post punk and the exciting Madchester music scene. Joy Division did not live to see the impact of their music, not as a band, as lead singer Ian Curtis killed himself in 1980 and the remaining members founded a new act, New Order.
