About John Prine
Influenced by Bob Dylan, John Prine was even said to be the next Dylan, soon after his debut was released in 1971. The album included several songs that are still John Prine classics, among them Illegal Smile, Sam Stone and Paradise, a newgrass standard. In general the singer-songwriter has touched on several genres, among them folk, country and the above mentioned newgrass.
