About Happy Mondays
The "Happy" in Happy Mondays was there alright, but the late 80s Manchester based indie rock and rave band was not always so optimistic. Leader of the Happy Mondays, Shaun Ryder was always prone to public disturbances or unsocial behavior, until he left one day in 1992 to score some heroin and never returned, thus disbanding the band de facto. Nevertheless, Ryder and the Happy Mondays were Manchester's precious sons and an influence on practically all the music that has come from the city ever since.
