About Evanescence
The year of our lord 2003 can be baptized the year of Evanescence. The alt rock band that was founded in 1998 by singer Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody, took five years of independent recording to sign with Wind-up Records and sell 14 million copies of its debut LP worldwide. Three years later, after several lineup changes, the next LP, Open the Door was released and Evanescence sold 6 million copies of it to date.
