From being known as the Hillbilly Cat in the mid-50s, when he first started to perform, to his title as The King of Rock 'n' Roll, Elvis Presley merged blues and gospel with country and jazz, in lively performances and on 75 albums that were released in his lifetime and since his death in 1977.
