About Deep Purple
One of the most important hard rock bands in history, this unique combination of extraordinary musicians, behind the voice of Ian Gillan, have been as influential on the rock music (heavy metal, hard rock, rock and roll) to follow along with Led Zeppelin and perhaps Black Sabbath. Deep Purple formed in London in 1968. Early on they got to play before Cream as their warm up band, but were excused when their show outshone the evening's headline.
