Claude Nougaro is a highly-acclaimed singer and songwriter from Paris, France. The singer's musical style can be characterized as a blend of jazz and pop. He sent his lyrics to Marguerite Monnot, Edith Piaf's songwriter, who put them to music such as "Mephisto", "Le Sentier de la guerre". Claude Nougaro started to sing for a livelihood in 1959 in a Parisian cabaret in Montmartre, the Lapin Agile.
