After issuing the next band project, Welcome, Carlos Santana teamed up with another religious follower, Turiya Alice Coltrane, widow of John Coltrane, for creation of a third duo work. Their album Illuminations, was released in September 1974; it lingered for two months on the charts, peaking in the bottom quarter of the Top 100.
