Popular in America only as part of campy gay culture, Boney M never had the phenomenal success in the United States that they enjoyed abroad. The group began when German producer wrote the song 'Baby Do You Wanna Bump?' and brought in four session singers to support the song and sing it. The big break was when Boney M released "Daddy Cool" which to the Top Ten in the UK charts.
