Billy Joel returned to play music in 1981 after being treated for depression. He got a recording deal with Family Productions, a deal which was to haunt him later. It turned out that Billy Joel was signed to Family Productions for life… the artist was unaware of clause at the time, or just did not read the fine print. Only a decade later was Billy Joel able to free himself from the draconic contract.
