About Art Brut
The Art Wave, to adopt NME-coined phrase to describe the scene that emerged in England in the past several years, includes Franz Ferdinand, the Bloc Party and Art Brut. The latter, named after a term coined by Jean Debuffet, a French painter who described outsider art and meaning raw art, have been around since 2003 and have released one album thus far, Bang Bang Rock and Roll.
