About Animal Collective
It is as difficult to define the style in which Animal Collective play as it is to follow the collective's members. The group of Baltimore, Maryland experimental musicians who have moved to New York, Animal Collective are Avey Tare, Panda Bear, Deakin and Geologist, all four or some of them on any given project. Still, attempts to name their style often drift to such sub-genres as psych folk and noise rock.
