The band A comes from Suffolk, England. In the beginning the band was called "Grand Designs", however, after changing their name to "A" and leaving their initial progressive rock-inspired sound for a more punk rock musical sound, they signed a European record deal with British Warner Bros. Records in 1996 and released their debut LP "How Ace Are Buildings" in 1997.
