(hed) pe hail from Huntington Beach, California and were founded in 1984 by Jahred (a.k.a. M.C.U.D., a.k.a. Jerred Shaine). The goal that he set out to accomplish was to combine rock with G-funk-inflected hip-hop. (hed) pe were to play the sound that he invented, called G-punk.
